What kind of snake is this?

i found a snake near my house and i was wondering if someone could tell me what kind it is. it has a black glossy body with a white belly and it doeesnt seem to have any large venom glands like 90% of snakes that have venomous snakes have although im still kinda scared to touch it. its about 6-8 inches long so it could either be a baby or a pygmy. if you need a picture you can contact me by AIM if u wanna help me out. thanks
