Being in a pageant with braces?

I ask my mom if I could do pageants, so then I was like, you think I could do it with braces? And she was like yeah why not. But I don't know. Also, another question, is it okay if I start at the age of 13? Cause I'm 13 right now and I don't know. Please be respectful, thanks you so so so much!!! <3 :)
